Role Overview

The role involves providing technical leadership to both the data science team and the broader RoZetta team, with a focus on solution design. This role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between data science innovations and the implementation of practical, scalable solutions, reporting directly to the Chief Data Scientist. The primary responsibilities will include designing data-driven solutions and collaborating with the technology implementation team to transition proof of concept (POC) solutions into production.

Core Responsibilities

Solution design:

  • Lead the design and development of data-driven solutions that address key business challenges and opportunities
  • Develop comprehensive solution architectures that integrate various data sources, tools, and technologies
  • Ensure solution designs are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals
    Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of RoZetta’s technology platform, product suite, vision, strategy and roadmap

Data science:

  • Conduct advanced data analysis and develop predictive models to derive actionable insights
  • Utilise machine learning and statistical techniques to build and validate models
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science and incorporate relevant advancements into the organisation’s practices

Collaboration and project management:

  • Work with cross-functional project teams to deliver data science projects from inception to deployment
  • Work closely with the technology implementation team to ensure a seamless transition of POC solutions to production
  • Assist with the development of project plans, manage timelines, and ensure milestones are met
  • Communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders effectively
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the implementation phase
  • Ensure that solutions are optimised for performance, scalability, and reliability

Leadership:

  • Assist with the mentoring of data scientists and provide technical leadership within the team
  • Help foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures
Qualifications & Skills
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R or Java
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modelling, and data analysis techniques
  • Experience in big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • More than 5 years commercial experience in capital markets / ESG industry
  • Demonstrable solution design expertise
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Leadership experience and entrepreneurial outlook
